Rina Uch (left) with her dance instructor, Neak Kruu Sitho, in front of Rina’s Long Beach home. Rina’s husband built the backdrop in the likeness of a 9th-century Khmer temple known as Banteay Srey, for a performance.

The instrument is a roneat, which is similar to a xylophone. The backdrop has been painted with images of Devata, female goddesses, from Angkor Wat and Banteay Srey temples in the Siem Reap area of Cambodia.
