Historical Cemetery Tour Parking & Directions


PARKING IS FREE AT SUNNYSIDE CEMETERY ENTRANCE


1095 E. Willow Street but fills up quickly. Those driving large trucks, vans, and SUV’s will be asked to park outside of the cemetery. Carpools and cycling are encouraged. Bicycle parking is designated at Municipal Cemetery at 1151 Willow Street.

Additional free parking is available at Willow Springs Park at 2745 Orange Avenue, as well as street parking south of Willow Street along Cerritos, Lemon, Lewis avenues, and near 27th Street and California Avenue.

We ask that you be respectful of surrounding businesses and refrain from parking in business lots.

CHECK-IN/TICKET BOOTH LOCATION

Sunnyside Cemetery Entrance: 1095 E. Willow Street

Long Beach Municipal Cemetery Entrance: 1151 E. Willow Street

The cemeteries are located south of Spring Street, on Willow Street between Orange Avenue on the east and California Avenue on the west.

GETTING TO THE CEMETERIES

From 405 North

Take exit 29C for Orange Avenue. Turn left onto 32nd Street, then turn left at the light onto Orange Avenue. Park at Willow Springs Park at 2745 Orange Avenue, or turn right on Willow. The cemeteries will be on your right (north side of the street).

From 405 South

Take exit 29C for Orange Avenue. Keep right at the fork, following signs for Long Beach City College. Merge onto Orange Avenue. Park at Willow Springs Park at 2745 Orange Avenue, or turn right on Willow. The cemeteries will be on your right (north side of the street).

From the I-710 North

Take exit 3A for Willow St East and turn right to merge onto West Willow Street. Continue on Willow for 2 miles. The cemeteries will be on the left-hand side between California Avenue and Orange Avenue.

From the I-710 South

Use the right two lanes to take exit 4 toward San Diego. Merge onto I-405 South for 1 mile. Take exit 29C for Orange Avenue. Keep right at the fork, following signs for Long Beach City College and merge on Orange Avenue. Park at Willow Springs Park at 2745 Orange Avenue, or turn right on Willow. The cemeteries will be on your right (north side of the street).

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Long Beach Transit- Orange Avenue

Northbound: Take the 71 or 72 Orange to Rosecrans and exit on Orange and Willow SE. Proceed north on Orange Avenue toward E Willow Street. Turn left onto Willow St. and the cemeteries will be on the right-hand side.

Southbound: Take the 71 or 72 Orange to Downtown and exit on Orange and Willow SW. Proceed north on Orange Avenue toward E Willow Street. Turn left onto Willow St. and the cemeteries will be on the right-hand side.

Metro

From the Metro Blue Line, exit at the Willow Blue Line Station. Go south and turn left onto Willow Street. Continue on willow for 1 mile. The cemeteries will be on the left-hand side between California Avenue and Orange Avenue.

PARKING AT WILLOW SPRINGS PARK – Parking at this location is limited.

For drivers using the I-405, I-710 and CA-91: After exiting and merging onto Orange Avenue, Willow Springs Park will be on the right hand side, between Spring Street and Willow Street. After parking, proceed south down the hill toward the cemetery and check-in and/or purchase tickets through the Long Beach Municipal Cemetery entrance.

PARKING IN NEARBY RESIDENTIAL AND LIGHT INDUSTRIAL AREAS

California Avenue

For drivers using the I-405, I-710S and CA-91: After exiting on Orange Avenue, turn right onto Willow Avenue. Then turn left onto California Avenue and park along the street. Proceed north toward Willow to check-in or purchase tickets at the Sunnyside Cemetery entrance.

I-710N Drivers: After exiting on Willow Street, continue on Willow for 1.4 miles and turn right onto California Avenue. After parking vehicle, proceed north toward Willow to check-in or purchase tickets at the Sunnyside Cemetery entrance.

Cerritos, Lemon, Lewis Avenues

For drivers using the I-405, I-710S and CA-91: After exiting on Orange Avenue, take the first right turn after the Willow Street intersection on 25th Street. This gives drivers access to parking on Cerritos, Lemon and Lewis Avenues. After parking vehicle, proceed north toward Willow to check-in or purchase tickets at the Sunnyside or Long Beach Municipal Cemetery entrances. Please cross Willow St. using the signals at either California Avenue or Orange Avenue.

I-710N Drivers: After exiting on Willow Street, continue on Willow for 1.7 miles and turn right onto Orange Avenue. Then take the first right turn onto 25th Street to access parking on Cerritos, Lemon, and Lewis Avenues. After parking vehicle, proceed north toward Willow to check-in or purchase tickets at the Sunnyside or Long Beach Municipal Cemetery entrances. . Please cross Willow St. using the signals at either California Avenue or Orange Avenue.
