Strange Sea Tales (Along the Southern California Coast)

Strange Sea Tales (Along the Southern California Coast)

$9.00 – $10.00

by Claudine Burnett

This creative history by the former head of the Literature and History Department of the Long Beach Public Library recalls tales of sea monster sightings, sunken Japanese submarines, buried pirate treasure, remains of the Lizard People, the great shark scare of 1959, and the fishing industry in Southern California. The yarns are based on information from Long Beach newspapers and are accompanied by period photographs from the HSLB’s extensive collection.
